Project Work

  • Aboriginal Legal Access Project – Shoalcoast is funded to provide community legal education opportunities in local Aboriginal communities to increase knowledge of and access to legal services.  Contact Shoalcoast if you would like us to visit your community to discuss any legal issues.
  • Aboriginal Family Law Project – Shoalcoast is funded to provide legal advice and support to Aboriginal men and women who need assistance with Family Law or Care matters.  The Project employs solicitors as well as an Aboriginal Support Worker.
  • Cooperative Legal Services Delivery Project – Shoalcoast is funded to support legal and associated services to meet quarterly to discuss the unmet legal needs of disadvantaged communities in the Shoalhaven and the South Coast.  Partners work together to deliver projects aimed at reducing legal needs and promoting legal services.
  • Family Harmony Project – with funding from the Law & Justice Foundation of NSW we have developed a set of resources for discussing legal issues around maintaining family harmony with Aboriginal women and services working with Aboriginal women.  This includes Family Violence, Family Law, Criminal Law and Victims Compensation.  Contact Shoalcoast if you would like us to visit your community to present this workshop.
  • Family Relationship Centre (FRC) Legal Partnership – Shoalcoast is funded to employ a Solicitor who is available to give free legal advice and support to Family Relationship Centre clients.  Clients are referred by the FRC.
  • South East NSW Women’s Issues Solicitor – Shoalcoast is funded to provide a outreach legal advice, casework and community legal education serivce to women living in Queanbeyan, Cooma-Monaro, Bombala and Far South Coast communities.  All enquiries to Shoalcoast.
  • South Coast Volunteer Court Support Project – Shoalcoast has received funding from the Law & Justice Foundation of NSW to recruit and train volunteers to assist court users with information and referral at Nowra Local Court on list days – Mondays and Fridays.
